BROOKLINE-NEWFANE SCHOOL BOARD
For eight months during the 2008-2009 school year, the Newfane and Brookline School Boards met together to explore possibilities for greater collaboration. This process culminated on June 23, 2009, when both towns approved a proposal to create a joint school board.
On June 25, 2009, the school boards from both towns met officially for the first time and decided to call the new joint board the Brookline-Newfane School Board. Although each school board is required by law to continue to exist, the bulk of the work of running both schools will be carried out by the new joint board.
The joint board consists of all members of both the Newfane (5) and Brookline (3) School Boards, for a total of eight voting members.
