Acceptable Use Policy
Electronic Information Acceptable Use Guidelines:
- At all times while using the computer network, appropriate
standards regarding behavior and personal conduct as identifies
in existing student handbooks, must be followed.
- At all times, personal actions must take into account the
rights of others.
- Users should always respect the privacy of other network
users. At no time should students or other unauthorized users
attempt to access privileged inofrmation such as budgetary
information, grades or other sensitive information.
- Profanity of other activites that violate the law are not
allowed. Illegal activity of any kind, on or off the network,
will not be tolerated.
- Any student use of the school's network services shall
be for the exchange of information in ore to help a person's
educationa and research.
- All use of the Internet must be in support of educational
goals and or standards.
- The copying of software for transmission or storage of
the network is not permissible witht the exception of shareware,
freeware, or software marked public domain and should always
be under the direction of system administrators.
- Copyrighted material must not intentionally be downloaded
from any system connected to the network without the author's
permission. Copyrighted material may be downloaded and used
for educational purposes, but the source must be cited and
all copyright laws applied.
- Computer viruses must not knowingly be spread. Each school
will take appropriate measures to protect local workstations
and servers from propagating computer viruses.
On-Line Etiquette and Safety:
- Be polite.
- Keep your messages short.
- Don't reveal other people's private business.
- Do not reveal your personal address or phone number or
phone numbers of students or colleagues. Use the school's
address instead when involved with a telecommunication project.
