***Special Event***

Students built "krathong" boats in celebration of  "Loy Krathong,"  an annnual celebration of water in Thailand.  Students constructed the krathongs at school and many gathered at the Retreat Meadows on Friday evening to set them out onto the water with reflection and well wishes about the health of our water.

Third through sixth graders learned about the work of Andy Goldsworthy and created sculptures outside on Newfane School grounds.  Take a look at some of their inspired works. (We hope to do this project each season)

    Fifth and Sixth Grade.

Fifth and Sixth graders got the chance to connect art and environmental activism/awareness with this printmaking project.  They created prints with imagery that reminded them of water and then crafted these "water" jugs, that include a "price tag" informing their viewers just how much water they use in their everyday lives.  This installation will be exhibited at the Vermont State House in March in celebration of World Water Day!
